Guest Speakers and Their Topics of Presentation
Louise Thornton
Community-Centered | Midwife | Motherhood Advocate
Louise is a Registered Midwife with over 20 years of experience supporting women through birth in both hospital and home settings. A mother of four herself, she brings not only professional expertise but deep personal understanding to her work — honouring the emotional, physical, and identity-shifting journey known as matrescence.
Throughout her career, she has witnessed the beauty and power of birth, but also the impact of birth trauma — and holds a firm, zero-tolerance stance toward care that falls short of being woman-centred and truly individualised. She is deeply committed to ensuring that every woman is seen, heard, and supported through her unique transition into motherhood.
Her passion lies in building communities where honest conversations can unfold, where mothers feel less alone, and where the complexities of 'becoming' are met with compassion, and always, with kindness.
Donna Dedic
Donna is a qualified Oral Heath Therapist and Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist. She has years of experience in dental practice, where she now predominantly works with children and adults who have orofacial dysfunction, in particular working alongside dentists in early intervention orthodontics and tongue ties.
She will be discussing what dental signs to look for in growing children and who to turn for assistance, and how myofunctional therapy can be a great tool in dental treatment.
Topics of discussion:
- chewing solids / diet / decay
- dental occlusion and early intervention orthodontics
- signs of sleep disordered breathing / airway / allergies
- allied health professionals who can help
Kiera
Kiera is a health coach and nutritionist with a focus on women’s health and fertility. She grew up in rural South East Queensland before moving to the city to attend university, where she became sparingly unwell, developing polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), chronic fatigue, and a myriad of other health issues. After spending months and copious amounts of resources to fix her health with no relief, this experience led her down a self-healing path. Today, Kiera is passionate about educating women on the importance of circadian health, including exposure to artificial light and non-native electromagnetic fields and how these factorsinfluence fertility, hormone production, and overall vitality. She believes the root cause of most health concerns stems from a disconnection with nature, which ultimately leads to dis-ease in the body and a lack of coherence in life.
Kiera is excited to share knowledge at Discussing Motherhood 2025, where she will offer practical takeaways, supportive resources, and educational tools to help women reclaim their health and thrive in a modern environment. Kiera will focus on the key developmental milestones of our young children's lives and what we can do to support optimal growth, health and metabolism to avoid modern illness. We often think about setting children up for success asa conversation that is centered around finances and education, but without health, we have nothing.
Dr Grace Stottlear
Grace is a chiropractor, internal pelvic release practitioner, business owner, wife, and mother to an energetic 4-year-old girl named Piper.
Her passion lies in supporting women to reconnect with themselves, focusing on the pelvis as a vital anchor. She works closely with the pelvic space, viewing it not only as a physical center but as a powerful source of grounding, feeling, and connection. Grace believes the pelvis is where much of a woman’s intuition, creativity, and strength resides, yet it is often the most overlooked part of the body.
Through gentle hands-on care and honest, open conversations, she creates a safe space for women to feel at home in their bodies, understand their pelvic health, and speak about it confidently, free from shame, fear, or awkwardness.
Her work is about helping women remember who they are beneath the demands of life and the roles they play, guiding them back to the deep wisdom within.
Addison Landry
Addison Landry is a postpartum care specialist, private chef, and energy practitioner with over a decade of experience supporting families through fertility, postpartum, and early parenthood. Her work bridges professional kitchens and integrative healing, blending nourishment, nervous system support, and energetic care.
Trained at William Angliss Institute, Addison held roles in acclaimed kitchens including Feast of Merit (Head Pastry Chef) and Del Posto NYC. She now brings this culinary expertise into the home, crafting deeply nourishing meals and rituals tailored to the postpartum season.
Addison is also a certified postpartum doula (Carriage House Birth, NY) with additional training in Applied Nutrition, Reiki, Energy Medicine, and The Emotion Code. Her work is rooted in the belief that when we care for the mother, we nourish the whole family.
Drawing from years of experience supporting hundreds of mothers and families, Addison offers practical, grounded insights to make nourishment feel effortless and deeply supportive—no matter the size or structure of your household. Her talks blend ancestral wisdom with modern practicality, always rooted in compassion and ease.
Topics of discussion:
-Warming foods, replenishment, and how to gently rebuild vitality after birth and beyond
-Setting up your kitchen, pantry, and freezer for simple, ancestral nourishment
-Meal planning with heart and ease, even in the unpredictable rhythms of new parenthood
About Your Host Ann Wolki and Wolki Farm
Ann Wolki is a key figure at Wolki Farm, a regenerative agriculture farm in Woomargama, New South Wales, where she works alongside her husband, Jake Wolki. Her passion lies in motherhood, sustainable farming, and creating wholesome, natural products. Raised with a strong influence from her mother’s from-scratch cooking, Ann has cultivated a deep love for preparing nourishing food, which she shares through recipes on social media and by teaching others. At Wolki Farm, she contributes to raising pasture-fed animals and producing items like grass-fed beef, lamb, pork, eggs, honey, and skincare products made from farm-sourced ingredients.
She hosts community events like farm tours, cooking workshops and the “Discussing Motherhood” event, fostering connection and education amongst women and mothers. Ann and Jake have three children—Otto, Theo, and Esmeralda—who are actively involved in farm life, reflecting her commitment to raising them in a natural, hands-on environment.
Navigating her own motherhood journey and also observing her friends, she has seen the massive need for events like this. Too many women are experiencing birth trauma or complicated pregnancies and postpartum that could have been avoided or drastically reduced. Through education and empowerment we can help women have a better outcome.
