Wolki Farm School Holiday Activities!

We are excited to offer 2 sessions of a book launch with book reading + craft activity.
Children's author Eva Geerling is launching her new book "Winter Sun". Come along and listen to Eva read her book and then enjoy a craft activity afterwards.
Book Bio
Elianna doesn't like winter- its cold, soggy, and her socks always get wet! She tries everything to stay warm, but nothing works... until she meets a new friend: the winter sun.
He helps her see that even the coldest seasons hold a little warmth- and that hope can shine, even in the winter time.
Session Overview
Each session is thoughtfully crafted to be interactive, reflective, and joyful, tailored primarily for young-middle age children.
The session includes:
A dynamic reading of Winter Sun, bringing the story to life with warmth and enthusiasm.
A guided group discussion exploring the story's themes, such as emotions, seasons, hope, and finding joy, helping students connect the narrative to their own experiences.
A hands-on activity inviting students to express their personal "sunlight moments" through drawing or writing, fostering creativity and storytelling skills.
This interactive experience is designed to captivate students, spark creativity, and foster emotional literacy through storytelling.
Winter Sun is a heartfelt tale that follows a child navigating the emotional and literal landscapes of winter, exploring themes of hope, resilience, and the beauty of small joys.
It encourages young readers to find light and warmth even in life's challenging moments.
Activity Details
2 sessions available at 10am or 1pm on Thursday 9th October. Sessions run for 1.5-2hours.
Children aged 2-16 are $15. Under 2s are free to attend and listen and watch the craft activity. Family pass of 3+ children for $45.
Coffee, tea and cakes with be available to purchase catered by Ann Wolki. Otherwise feel free to BYO kids snacks.
Parents are required to stay and supervise but do not need to book a ticket.
The activity is held outside, on a grassy patch and undercover section with a bathroom, small playground, and outdoor kitchen area.
Location
Wolki Farm Woomargama is an easy 30minute drive up the Hume Highway from Albury. We have a local pub that serves great lunches (wednesday-sunday) or Holbrook just up the road has a great bakery, cafe and pubs to make the day a full adventure!

Hello! My name is Eva Geerling, a Newcastle-based author and illustrator who grew up in the Albury-Wodonga region.
With a degree in Visual Communication Design and two self-published books, I am passionate about creating meaningful stories that resonate with young readers.
My work draws inspiration from the wonder of childhood, themes of faith, and the timeless charm of classic picture books.
