What is congee and why is it beneficial to postpartum? 

• Congee is used in Traditional Chinese Medicine for postpartum recovery
• It is made from rice and broth, cooked on low for a very long time to create a thick soup type consistency. 
• The long cooking process makes it easy to digest, releases pectin in the rice - a pre-biotic and excellent for colon health.
• Ginger helps reduce inflammation and supports the immune system which is also still recovering from pregnancy and birth.
